Before you begin, here's everything you'll need to make this model:

Materials used

• Yarn in the color of your choice (I personally use Chenillove yarn 100g/110m)
• Hook: 5.0 mm
• Hair elastic
• Yarn needle, scissors

Abbreviations used

ch - chain
sc - Single crochet
slst – Slip stitch
dc – Double crochet
(…) x N – repeat these instructions N times
*…* – repeat these instructions in the same stitch
[…] – number of stitches obtained at the end of the row

The Tutorial

This pattern is worked in a continuous circle around the elastic.
Round 1 : single crochet all around the elastic, single crochet in the first single crochet [38*]
Round 2 ch 2, (2 dc) in each sc of round 1, 1 dc in the first ch, sl st in the beginning chain [76]
Round 3 (ch 3, 1sc) in each stitch of round 2, finish with 3 ch and 1 sl st in the first sc [304]

Cut the yarn and hide the excess.

Congratulations, you've finished your "Coral" effect hair scrunchie!

*The final number of stitches depends on the elasticity of your elastic and the desired result. The more single crochet stitches in the first round, the more voluminous the scrunchie will be. The fewer single crochet stitches, the flatter the scrunchie will be.
